It has become an essential part of my Christian life to read and meditate on the Bible every morning. Fellowship and encouragement with other believers is also important, but even more we need the encouragement God gives in His Word.

Yesterday morning I was feeling particularly burdened by the growing attacks on the Bible and on the Christian faith. These attacks are particularly hurtful since they are so irreverent and blasphemous toward the Lord I love and serve. But God has called me into the world of blogging and that is cause for rejoicing and praising Him. I have never had so much opportunity to share my faith with so many people all over the world.

The Bible makes no effort to be politically correct; and deals with absolutes of right and wrong, and that is why so many atheistic governments have set out to remove it from circulation – even throwing Bible teachers in prison. This is still going on in places like China where the Olympic Games will be held this year.

Unfortunately, our own government, (USA) particularly in our public schools, has allowed atheism to become the established state religion. The longer I post online the more evangelistic I see this religion to be. It is not enough to say they don’t believe in God or the Bible - It seems to be an active cause to attempt to destroy the faith of those who do. It is certainly a cause to remove any evidence of belief in the Bible from public places.
Well, the purpose of my Blog is to share God’s Word with all who would care to read it, and to model personal application of Scripture in a format of prayer. But today I just wanted to share a passage that was particularly encouraging to me. It is a familiar passage, but somehow it spoke volumes to me yesterday morning about the indescribable value of God’s Word in our lives.
Psalms 19:7-14
The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold,
Yes, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey
and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
And in keeping them there is great reward.
Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults.
Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins;
Let them not have dominion over me.
Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.
